1-Marcus Garvey talking "Up, You Mighty Race" Black talk, while choosing to marry a light, near-White looking woman.
2-Complaints from BW that W.E.B DuBois only used light-skinned women with naturally wavy hair as cover models for The Crisis Magazine.
3-Walter White of the NAACP dumping his Black wife of 20+ years for a White South African woman.
4-Dr. King cheating on Coretta with White women. All of which was audiotaped by Hoover's FBI, which tried to use these tapes to blackmail Dr. King into committing suicide.
5-Elijah Muhammad cheating on Sis. Clara Muhammad with dozens (if not hundreds) of mostly light-skinned women (and underage girls).
6-The Black Panthers' focus on having sex with non-Black women, as well as their extreme chauvinism.
7-Rev. "Baby Daddy" Jesse Jackson cheating on his wife. My mother kept an old magazine interview with Rev. Jackson from the early 1970s where he's quoted as saying "variety is the spice of life" when asked about his marriage.
8-Ben Chavis paying out NAACP money to settle a sexual harassment suit from a female employee.
9-Kweisi Mfume's scandal at the NAACP involving his womanizing. Also, didn't he have 5-6 sons out of wedlock (or something like that)?
Evolution of the trainwreck that was the Anti-Socialist's Section or social experiment gone wrong, you make the call!

Another WOW!
I am a firm believer in posting things that I love and feel could expand someone's mind out there. This following quote is part of a reply to a post from an excellent blog that has opened a lot of eyes. Let's face it, black women better start waking up and begin looking out for their best interests, particulary in self-esteem and expanding their dating/marriage options. The 'nothing but a brother' shit is not working out too good:
"Even among professional circles in the BC, I'm seeing so much disdain and ridicule of BW who are focused on marriage, as if they're desperate and needy and have been "co-opted" by the patriarchy... when they're actually the smart ones. But no, the BC has to be so "different" and affirm countercultural mores that DO NOT WORK and we can't see the folly of our ways."

There are some people who deserved to be called out. I know I have issues, but at least I'm not a Apple freak. I went trolling in defense of those who dare to point out the flaws of the newest iPhone POS and submitted the following, seeming killing the thread (as per usual) :
I love the “ipod sucks” articles just for the iLoon replies. I have no problem with agreeing to disagree but there’s a special kind of defensiveness that comes from the Apple nuts. Just enjoy being a lemming and stop jumping down the throats of people who who dare to demand a bit of quality.
Have you figured out why I don't allow comments yet?

Quantum of Solace - what the hell is that?
Never was a freak for the 007 series. The only one I ever saw more than once was A View to a Kill, and that was because I loved the title song by Duran Duran and wound up not changing the channel. Now I love that film for the dated corniness, the wonder that is Grace Jones and Roger Moore's fopish creakiness.
Just ONCE I would like to turn on HBO or Starz and the Casino Royale that comes on will be the one with David Niven and Peter Sellers, I was obsessed with that film as a kid (apparently so was Mike Myers). Call me when they remake that puppy...

Wow...
From a now-defunct incel board:
"I just can't picture being in a relationship or having sex at all. It's been so long it's like my imagination is tired of trying. I guess I always have a glimmer of hope; otherwise I wouldn't be on this board ranting about it all the time. But there is definitely a feeling of destiny to it all. As I get older, I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that its just never going to happen"

Yay, a Black President - now what?
Congrats to all involved!! Election night was a beautiful moment, but time will tell whether change really will happen or if we just sold another bill of goods. I like the guy, I'll give him a chance, what choice do we have? After all, Dubya was the guy everybody wanted to have a beer with (as he slashed our throats and sent kids to die), I really don't think Barak (or "Barry" if it makes you feel better) can do any worse. I hope he doesn't try.
P.S. - I adore Michelle but hated that dress too.
