"the idea that Christianity could have been made to control the masses is absurd if you look at the history of the early church.... the people who would have been the ones to have made up the story did not only stay poor (when they were spreading the gospel they had simple jobs, for instance Paul made tents). also proclaiming that Jesus rose from the dead caused them to go into prison, and die horrible deaths (except one who was exiled for a good portion of his life)
