"If you really want a relationship with God OP than don't let this single experience define God for you. That pastor was a man, and as that he may not be in the bible so to speak. Every pastor is not going to be right , just like all people in church are not right. You don't need a church or a pastor to read your bible or to get in touch with God. If you read the bible you'll know if the pastor or the church is wrong or right. I saw your post yesterday I am sorry that it did not turn out as you had hoped. I wish you alot of luck and blessings.
OP Sometimes in your quest to better yourself you have to kiss alot of frogs, meaning you may have to attend several services at different churches before you find the right one for you. The very first church you ever go to is probably not going to be a perfect fit. All churches are not the same and they don't all teach or interpret the bible the same way. You have to find a church that not only makes you feel welcomed and comforted , but that teaches the bible in a way that YOU agree with."
